A random update of sorts

Friday, June 6, 2008 · 2 Comments

So all this week I have been home all alone because my car was getting fixed.  My mom and sister were in Syracuse, and I had no way of getting to work, so I had nothing but World of Warcraft, Kamen Rider, and my cigarettes to keep me sane.  Finally got my car back today and it’s still acting up.  Also, in the course of “fixing” it, my radio reset itself and now I can’t find the security code.  Great.

I geeked out for a bit yesterday, and installed ubuntu on the broken PC.  I love how linux handles the NIC flawlessly, while windows continues to not acknowledge it, even after running the driver install.  Thanks Microsoft!  Even got it to share the printer with my Macbook Pro, which is great!

Tonight was really the first social interaction I’ve had all week, which was interesting.  Photo editing the yearbook will be kind of cool.

Tomorrow I am off to Atlanta for my cousin’s wedding.  So follow me on twitter if you care about those kinds of things.  By the way, if you don’t have a twitter account at this point (which means everyone but Elyse), then you are officially behind the times.  Facebook and blogs are like so 2 years ago.  Get with the times already!

I got the new Weezer CD today, along with the bonus tracks (not all of them, only the 4 US tracks and one of the UK tracks).  I love how every time they make a new album, I am reminded of how hard they rock!  I plan on listening to this while I wait for my plane tomorrow.  Apparently they play around with roles in this, with Rivers playing drums on at least one of the songs.  Should be interesting.

Other things?  Kamen Rider Hibiki has changed my life.  No really, it has struck me.  I love how a dumb kids show from japan that revolves around transforming super heroes and fighting demons can have such a powerful message in between all that.  I think it really has helped me with what I have been feeling lately.  If you watch only one imported japanese tokusatsu series, make it hibiki.

What else?  Call me sometime?  I’m free most weekends, and usually bored.  Need to see some old faces this summer

Manhunt 2 will be the best game ever!

Wednesday, June 20, 2007 · 1 Comment

Probably not. But with all this attention its getting, I’m very tempted to buy a Wii just for this game.

First, everybody’s favorite nutjob lawyer, Jack Thompson said that Wendys encourages murder because they gave away Nintendo happy meal toys. And now parents groups want the ESRB to give the game an AO rating?

Hey guess what, the ESRB is an INDEPENDENT rating group. and while everyone looks to them for guidance (see gamestop), it still doesnt mean squat.

Hey, If you can sell Unrated DVDs in Best Buy, and XXX movies in suncoast, why are people getting up in arms about the AO rating for video games? its just like Take Two said, its simply on par with other forms of ADULT entertainment. Meaning if parents are upset about this game, Dont get it for your kid for christmas (or birthdays) , and dont spoil it for ADULTS like me!

My time with halo 3?

Sunday, May 13, 2007 · No Comments

So the other night I was reading this post saying to check my bungie.net inbox for a halo 3 multiplayer beta Halo 3invite.  So to make a short story short, I did, and now I’m in the halo 3 beta!

So far I think the coolest thing is the gravity pump.  I miss-understood this when I read about it earlier.  Its a place-able gravity pump, similar to those in halo 2, but you can put it anywhere you want.  Meaning storming bases will never be the same again, and glitch jumping is going to get a whole lot more interesting.

The old new battle riffle is actually really cool.  The new sound is a lot more satisfying.  And the new award system is pretty cool.

The one thing I am missing, and I am surprised that they changed was the logo system when you use it to identify your team mates on the HUD.  Now we have these 3 character alphanumeric codes that don’t mean much because everyone keeps them random.  If anything I think bungie should combine the codes and the logos on the HUD.

WoW Tier 5

Monday, December 4, 2006 · 19 Comments

Just found this video of the Crazy Ass-ed Tier 5 armor sets that are coming out with the new World of Warcraft expansion this January.  But I think that the best part of this video, is that we can see the new Blood Elves dance like Napoleon Dynamite (see the paladin @ 2:40).

This Could just be some humor during the beta. But I think it would be hilarious if it made it through.

The newest citizen of Azeroth

Yes, I have joined the legions of the Horde, and have become a hunter of Azeroth.

For those not in the know, I have started playing World of Warcraft. And it is AWESOME!

Firstly I opted to let Manny refer-a-friend me. I get a free 10 days for trying it out, and he gets a free month for recruiting me. Then, I bought the CD-key online, and saved $10 off the retail price for the game, and downloaded the client for free. Infact, I downloaded the client for free twice, on berns computer. And I might even end up doing it again on the desktop.

As far as the game is concerned, the questing system is addicting! Most MMORPG's require mindless dungeon runs, and repititious boss kills to get major EXP. But WOW makes you recieve and turn in quests, so that its never boring.

So far I am a lvl 15 Troll Hunter. My character name is "Noxix" and the server is Darkspear (PVP). I joined mainly because that was Manny's server, but also the story of the game makes PVP pretty necessary (There are non-PVP servers, but those are for wusses).

So yeah, if you have WOW, look me up. And yes, this is why i haven't been on AIM in a while. WOW is ruling my life lol.
