Why I Probably Won’t Be Voting In 08

Tuesday, April 22, 2008 · No Comments

It seems I can’t go on digg these days without seeing 50 stories about Clinton VS Obama and how mainstream media is messing up the debates. But really, the media isn’t the problem in this election. Your votes will be tampered with, and here’s how.

This video is a bit on the long side but it brings the point across. This may just be one model of an e-vote machine, but they are pretty much all flawed, and election officials refuse to address it. Hmmm I wonder why?

I’ve always said that security and convenience work on a spectrum, where they are the extremes. You can’t have one without forfeiting the other. And for something serious like, oh I dunno, The election for the “leader of the free world”, we should probably choose security, not convenience.

A quick refresher on the right to be heard

Thursday, January 10, 2008 · No Comments

Or should I say the lack of that right.

I originally wrote this post at the end of last year’s spring semester.

The right to speak is protected by the first amendment.  But the right to be heard is protected nowhere.  Speak about anything and everything you want, but nobody has to listen to you.

Just a refresher ;)

Manhunt 2 will be the best game ever!

Wednesday, June 20, 2007 · 1 Comment

Probably not. But with all this attention its getting, I’m very tempted to buy a Wii just for this game.

First, everybody’s favorite nutjob lawyer, Jack Thompson said that Wendys encourages murder because they gave away Nintendo happy meal toys. And now parents groups want the ESRB to give the game an AO rating?

Hey guess what, the ESRB is an INDEPENDENT rating group. and while everyone looks to them for guidance (see gamestop), it still doesnt mean squat.

Hey, If you can sell Unrated DVDs in Best Buy, and XXX movies in suncoast, why are people getting up in arms about the AO rating for video games? its just like Take Two said, its simply on par with other forms of ADULT entertainment. Meaning if parents are upset about this game, Dont get it for your kid for christmas (or birthdays) , and dont spoil it for ADULTS like me!
